Medusa

Medusa is an exploration and intersection of antique and new techniques of working with glass. The natural wave-effect is produced first, thanks to the handcraft of the glassmaker, using traditional moulds dating back to the origins of the Venetian and Muranese glass that give the glass bells its particular ribbing; and second, by the rotation of the smaller of the glass bells.

The illusion of light originating directly from the core of Medusa is possible thanks to a thin platinum layer, capable of transmitting electricity, imprinted onto the inner surface. A modern coating technique that eliminates the need of cables. The light sources are special LEDs with a superior light quality.
